Job Overview:
We’re on the hunt for a superstar Data Scientist or Data Analytics Agency to partner with us on this incredible journey. You’ll be at the heart of our data-driven revolution, working alongside Jessica Kentch, one of our founding partners, and our brilliant CTO, Viktor Shevchenko. Together, we’ll craft cutting-edge data solutions that give CPA firms of all sizes the tools they need to compete with the big guys. But that’s not all—we’re building something bigger. We’re curating a data collective and community, and we want you to help lead the charge. With events, trainings, and webinars on the horizon, the opportunities for professional services (and making a lasting impact) are endless.
Project Scope and Vision:
Ablaze Collective is all about levelling the playing field. Traditionally, only the Big Four accounting firms could afford the advanced BI dashboards that deliver the insights needed to thrive—think $30,000 USD per pop. But we’re flipping that script. Our vision? To make these game-changing tools available to every CPA firm, starting at under $5,000 USD per firm. We recently helped a client get acquired by a Big Four firm thanks to our killer report, and we’re just getting started. We need a creative and innovative Data Scientist/Agency who shares our passion for transforming the fintech landscape and making high-quality BI solutions available to everyone. And as we build this data collective, your role in curating, training, and growing our community will be key. Let’s redefine what’s possible, together.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and fine-tune data mining algorithms to dig out hidden gems from QBO and Xero API endpoints.
Team up with our engineers to supercharge our data mining platform with atomic computing magic.
Develop predictive models and machine learning algorithms that offer actionable insights for CPA firms, focusing on client portfolios and profitability.
Set up a multi-tenant BI portal that can host multiple CPA firms and their clients in one sleek platform.
Leverage our pre-built scripts to move data from QBO APIs into BigQuery via CSV like a pro.
Collaborate on choosing the best BI platform (we’re leaning towards Metabase, but we’re open to the best solution out there).
Turn business needs into tech specs that make our platform sing.
Explore new data sources and third-party APIs to keep our platform ahead of the curve.
Curate and grow a thriving data community with events, trainings, and webinars—unlocking endless opportunities for professional services.
Offer data-driven insights that fuel our product development, marketing, and client engagement strategies.
Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with industry standards (because we like to play by the rules).
Qualifications:
A degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or something similar.
Proven experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar analytics role—bonus points if it’s in fintech or accounting.
Mastery of big data, machine learning, and AI.
Fluency in Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools (like Tableau or Power BI).
Experience with QBO, Xero, and API integration (the more, the merrier).
A knack for solving tough problems and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills—you can break down complex tech talk into simple, actionable insights.
